Sun Dried Tomato Pizza/Pasta Sauce

This sauce doubles as both a pizza sauce (in it's thicker form) and a pasta sauce (after loosening with some water.) It has a classic Italian flavour, and can also be a good substitute in recipes that call for ketchup.

Cuisine American, Italian
Servings 2 cups

  • Blender or Immersion blender

  • 125 g Sun Dried Tomatoes
  • 1 can Tomato Paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Dried Basil
  • 1/2 tbsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • ~2/3 cup Water To thin the sauce as needed. Add as much as you need to get the consistency you want.

To use as a pizza sauce, keep it a bit thinner. To use as a pasta sauce, loosed the sauce with 1/2-1 cup of your hot pasta cooking water, and 1 tbsp of melted butter.
  • Store in a container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
