Prepping for Breadmas

It’s been a long year. Everyone is tired and looking for reasons to be happy. All through the fall I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of something that will make this year stand out for a good reason instead of a bad one. And there’s not much in this world that makes me happier than bread. So I thought, how about 12 days in December where I share a new bread recipe everyday? The 12 Days of Breadmas!

Everything you'll need to participate in the 12 Days of Breadmas. A full list of tools and ingredients to prepare your kitchen.

This post contains affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links I will receive a small commission at no cost to you, and you’ll be supporting the homestead. Thanks!

I know, it’s super corny and silly. But you know what? That might be exactly what we all need. And honestly, you’re on a site called Dorky Little Homestead, did you expect me to be cool? Come on.

The Tools

Bread making doesn’t need to be complicated, but it does still need some tools to make it easy. If you’re hoping to participate in every recipe, then these are the tools I recommend having. If there’s some you don’t have, I’ve provided links to buy them. But I also recommend socially distanced borrowing from anyone you know who has the tool you don’t have. After all, maybe your relationship is just a fling, and you don’t want to break the bank!

The Breadmas Ingrdients

I thought about this a lot, and decided that listing all the ingredients you would need for all 12 recipes was helpful. I realize it’s a long list, but 12 breads in a lot of breads. And since we’re all trying to minimize how often we go to the grocery store, having a full list seemed smart. So here is the very full list of all ingredients you’ll need to make all 12 breads of Breadmas.

Note: The final bread will require an active sourdough starter. If you don’t have one on the go, you can start one today and it will be ready to use by day 12.
